What is The Point of a Big Kitchen?

There is always an argument, especially in my house on how small the kitchen is. Do people really need the enormous kitchens they have? Do you really need one of those big fancy designer kitchens wine its own built in wine cooler? To be honest I don’t think I will ever quite understand why people need such big kitchens when all they are used for is cooking and the occasional party. So the question is, why do people spend so much of their hard earned cash when they only really use it to cook in once a day? The answer being I have absolutely no idea

I really think that it is down to how many of your friends have similar kitchens and if you wish to compete with them or not.

One of the first things you do as person when entering a new house is get invited into the kitchen. I’ll say again I’ve got no idea why this happens either but it does and the first thing to happen is that everyone will comment or think on how good or bad your kitchen looks. We all judge everything we see, kitchens incuded. So, how amazing does your kitchen have to look before people see it as an amazing kitchen? If people are going to judge everything from your flooring to your choice of dinnerware, is there much point trying to impress at all?

Over the years there has always been discussions on whether or not to extend for a biger kitchen or not. Personally I wouldn’t have a big kitchen, but I understand why people get them. In our house and I’m sure most houses it’s really only used to cook dinner and there is usually only one person doing the cooking. Why after having people in your own kitchen do you feel like it’s not good enough? People care about the opinions of their friends and family, thats why and I have never understood that. As well as this there are some fantastic top of the range kitchens out there as well as the bespoke kitchens that you design yourself. You can customise everything from your lighting plan to the style of your wine rack Still, I really don’t see the point of forking out so much money for something you use once or twice a day.
