The Toronto Maple Leafs

One of the team that makes up the Original Six in the National Hockey League is the Toronto Maple Leafs. The team was founded in 1917. Fans have been patronizing the team since it was founded. Leafs tickets have been flying out of the ticket booths as fans and supporters alike are rushing to get their hands on the tickets. There is a reason behind the madness. The Leafs have won 13 championships already. They have 11 Stanley Cups to brag about. Like most teams, they too suffered from a losing streak. After their last Stanley Cup win in 1967, the team seemed to have undergone a hiatus. Still, fans continued to support the team hoping to see a great comeback.

Though the team has not won the cup all those years, they did not fail to provide their loyal fans a great game to watch. Avid Leafs ticket holders were always treated to great games. Watching in a grand arena also added to the enjoyment.

The Maple Leafs Garden was the home of the Leafs for 68 years. The first time they played in the Maple Leafs Garden in 1931, they won their first Stanley Cup. In 1999, the Leafs transferred home to Air Canada Centre. The facilities of the new arena made the experience more enjoyable. Leafs ticket patrons had great views of the games.

The coming of the new millennium also offered the team a fresh start. {That year, the Leafs won their first division title in 37 years. After 37 years of waiting, the Leafs won their first division.} The attention was then again focused on the Leafs. In 2004, the team was able to achieve their 4th best record. They had 0.628 win percentage, a first in 43 years for the Leafs.

Brian Burke was hired in 2008. Burke changed the roster of the team. He traded their long time players to acquire players such as Kessel, Hagman, Stajan, Mayers, and Versteeg. There are those who were not happy by the decision of the general manager. All those changes were done so that the team will become much stronger.
