buying gold bars by either a gram or grain would that be a decent investment?

I bought a 24k 1 gram gold bar. Is this a good investment or just a waste of money?

The overhead on small quantity bullion is enormous so it certainly won’t be an investment as there would have to be a tremendous gain to overcome the overhead. Plus it’s only about $50 even at the spot rate. I would say it’s a waste of money. Hopefully, your gold chip is attractively packaged.
