Is there any point in visiting Canada?

The first country recognised for having some of the most ancient civilizations is Egypt, and now it has a contender. Canada could possibly be a contender for this title, although maybe not for a very advanced civilization?

It was recently discovered that there may actually have been a civilization (not very advanced) that lived in the Vancouver area over ten thousand years in the past. The Ecosystem was so diverse that there is great evidence to show that these people could have lived quite well. The ecosystem around Vancouver at this time is shown to have the properties required to support human like life. There wouldn’t be much of a problem for hunting in this case. The people that would have lived here were known as the Coast Salish, who would supposedly still have some descendants today.

However like every other country in the world, Vancouver evolved, once discovered by Europeans, industrialisation was begun. Jose Maria Narvaez sailed past the place which would become Vancouver but didn’t actually stop to survey or map it out.

George Vancouver had actually mapped out much of the land where Vancouver was to be built. George Vancouver had it named after him another 100 years after he had surveyed the area. In 1858 the Colony of British Columbia was established and in 1859 New Westminster was renamed as the capital of the Colony of British Columbia. Vancouver was established in 1866 when British Columbia merged with the smaller version of Vancouver.

Vancouver has a very wide and diverse history, and is known by many to be one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world. Over 50% of its population have a first language that is not English. However Vancouver has something else in it’s past that trumps all others, and that is the crazy Klondike Gold rush something that really made Canada big..

So are you looking for great Canada holidays this year, or just a vacation in general, well if you like history, then surely Vancouver holidays have to be on your to do’s, if not then why not Toronto holidays!
