Troy Accessories For The M4 Carbine

Troy are best known for their range of back up iron sights. These sights are all machined from aluminium and feature stainless steel fixings for optimal protection in marine environments. The entire range of Troy Battle Sights is produced in a Type III black or matte earth anodized finish. They follow the A1 pattern in having an L-shaped flip-up aperture assembly with large and small apertures. The two apertures are set to 300 and 500 meters respectively. The sights user the A1 adjustment system. The rear uses a coin or a bullet tip and the front the GI adjuster tool or Troy’s own variant thereof. Half Minute of Angle clicks are used.

For those who want an instant transition between optical and iron sights, Troy make non folding fore and rear sight units. All the front sights in Troy’s range are avialable with M16 type ears or an HK style open topped circle arrangement which lends itself to easy centering on the target. They then move up to a flip system which folds down to only .460″ high and is available in a standard height and low height version – the latter for ARs with gas piston systems which have higher receiver rails. Gas block versions of the front sights are also available. Twin spring detent balls secure the sights in either up or down position – when folded there are no protruding levers or other projections to catch on equipment. The rearsights are supplied with either a standard round aperture or ‘Di-optic’ Aperture (DOA) which features a diamond shaped aperture with a white line extending from each point for long range engagement and an open topped aperture with a single white crossbar for close range. This enables easier and more precise centering of the foresight for faster more accurate shooting. All of the folding sights can be supplied with tritium dots – two on the rear and one on the front – for battery and electronic free night shooting.

Troy set out to make a quad rail system that would be free-floating, easy to mount and would provide an unbroken length of MIL STD 1913 Picatinny rail incorporating the rifles existing receiver rail and avoiding the use of a heavy cantilever set-up. Non free floating versions are available that simply drop in in place of the standard handguard – the free floating versions clamp around the barrel nut. The Troy AR quad rail is produced in different lengths for various length gas systems. Some of these quad rails need a low profile gas block whilst others have an opening to take the factory front sight. The two piece construction makes fitting very easy and is secured with a four bolt clamoing system. The units and their covers are available in either black or earth to match other troy accessories and typical AR15 coloration. The unit has large holes to reduce its weight and disperse heat and the slots are alphanumerically coded in white so that you can replace accessories in the slots they were removed from.

The world’s militaries have rediscovered fore-grips over the last decade. Fore-grips allow far better control than horizontal fore-ends, especially in fast moving action. The Troy Combat Grip is a very rugged and adaptable unit. A full length stainless steel locking bar and front and rear cross-slot bars secure and prevent the grip from moving. It can be set-up in full length or reduced length configuration and acts as sealed storage for small components sealed by an O-ring. Black and matte earth finishes are again offered. A knurled surface provides for good grip in the wet.
